Perry and I decided to design and build a house that looked a bit like our real house and make it out of foam board. First we went shopping to Michaels. We got the board and some strong Gorilla glue (stinky) as well as some white card.
Then we measured the foam board and cut them to size. After we had all the pieces cut, we got the glue and stuck the walls and the roof together. We made a hinge for the roof so we could open it and work on the guts of the house. That proved to be a good idea later. Phew.
After that we let the glue dry. Then it was time to add some details. First we cut a hole in the floor for the staircase. We made the stairs by zigzagging foam-board and gluing them together. Then we cut some windows into the walls.
This is me doing the windows. First I used a pencil, and then Dad let me use the craft knife.
After that we made an outside deck and had a great idea. We wanted to create a tunnel that takes people from the deck to the shed. So we built the shed and then made a tube for a tunnel.
And here's me looking down the new funnel. We have to wait for the glue to dry before we install it though...so stay tuned for an update. Oh, by the way...Pepper is making some Lego furniture for the house so look out for that too. Bye!
